Don't know how I was able to get these photos, but there are better ones to come
Day I have no idea how long I've been here, but this was the best day. Scrambled eggs ham groanola Yatta Yatta Yatta. Oh, added some salsa to the eggs and it was really good. Saw 2 of my pts at the clinic and both went really well. Incredible how appreciative these people are. Makes me remember why I truly enjoy what I do. Took over for another prctitioner on another pt and will try to fit them tomorrow. So, 2 more fitting tomorrow. Fun travels to and from the clinic again today. I want to be a prosthetist in Colombia because I'm sure there'll never be a shortage of work. Wish I was smart enough to add photos today, but you'll have to wait until Gabby can help when I get home. Crazy motorcycle drivers. I don't understand how this traffic works so well with merging and motorcycles in between the lanes without road rage, but it's pretty amazing. (Photos to come). Ended the day with an 18 year old whiskey before dinner, then an authentic Colombian Italian restaurant for dinner?! Really good dinner followed by lemoncello. As far as I'm concerned any dinner followed by lemoncello is a winner. Humbled by a dinner toast saying that the thing he is most grateful for on this trip is meeting and working with me. Going to bed and looking forward to my family and my bed (as opposed to another nite on the rack). In Spanish, without is sin. Pretty sure there are too many sins in my life. Sin gluten, sin lactose and sin caffeine. I think the waiter missed the sin caffeine with my espresso. May have another post in the middle of the night. Stay tuned.

Couple of photos that showed up. Many more to come.
Day 6 Up early for my scrambled eggs, ham, granola and oj as usual. Then off to the clinic on the exciting roads of Bogata. Busy day at the clinic getting things ready for fittings. I had one fitting that went well but the pt had to wear 2 socks to be comfortable. Would have liked him fit in less socks. He was happy. Then just spent the rest of the time getting ready for tomorrow. Will see the rest of my pts and hopefully everything will go well. Exciting ride home again as usual (really wish I knew how to access my photos, will have to wait til I get to a computer when I get home to post them. Or until the IT Gods show a little pity to me). Dinner sucked. We passed by a Resturant that was packed and thought it must be goood. Turned out to be a Bennigan's kind of place. Well dinner options remaining are for a steak joint and a Colombian place. So hopefully they'll be better. getting ready to get back on the rack. Sad but actually looking forward to it.

Day 5 Good day at the office today. Started with a nice breakfast at the hotel and then the exciting ride to the clinic. Fabricated prostheses today and saw a couple of my pts for trial fittings that went well. Tomorrow will fit a couple more. Only almost killed one motorcyclist on the way home, so that was a successful ride. Dinner at a nice seafood restaurant. Seafood paella, how can u go wrong. Back onto the rack for the e ending.

Day 4 Busy day today! All the pts came in today for casting. I saw 4 pts and then modified 3 of the molds. Tomorrow is our modifying and fabrication day. The traffic going into the clinic wasn't too bad. Going back to the hotel is more challenging. Amazing how many bikes and motorcycles are on the road with all the cars riding in between the lanes. One of my pts had his amputation from a motorcycle (go figure). Got back to the hotel, showered and going to dinner now. Hopefully I can stay awake. Now I remember why I don't do this every year. Looking forward to getting back on the rack after dinner

Day 3 Decided that the only thing my bed is missing is rope to tie my arms and legs and a guy with a mask turning the wheel. Last full day getting used to the altitude before starting at the clinic. Off to a flea market in Bogata. Walked up and down the streets looking for great deals, not having a clue what they were saying or how much I was paying. All the walking with the limited air they have here in Bogata meant a 2 hour nap before dinner. Plans were for a steak dinner, but the resturant closed at 6 (on a Sunday). Back to the Colombian Wok!?! Looking forward to the ride into the clinic tomorrow. Bogata is supposed to have the second worst traffic next to LA. Motorcyclists all drive between the cars. Should be able to pick up a few new pts on the way to clinic.

Day 2
Nice hotel. Bed is just slightly harder than the floor. Started taking the altitude medicine last night which is a diuretic. So this 60 year old man with a walnut size bladder now has to go to the bano  just by thinking about water. Going to try to get used to the altitude today and tomorrow before starting at the clinic on Monday. So the great plan was to take the trolley to the top of the mountain. Beautiful view but if this was my mountain I would have oxygen filling tanks every 20 feet. Ended with an authentic Colombian dinner at "The Wok".  Supposedly no Colombian Resturant's in walking distance. Great food though.  Sight seeing again tomorrow before the actual fun begins
Day 1
I'm back!  Trip with Hughes International clinic to Bogata Colombia!  Flight in was great, had a guy meet us at the airport in a van and guess who forgot his book and tablet in the cart?  Had to turn around and go back to the airport hoping it would still be there. Got back to the parking lot and the book was there but no tablet. They directed us to a security desk and there was a security guy with my tablet playing with it. Turns out he changed the language to Spanish (very helpful) and then set up a sign in code😬.  Had to do a hard reset losing all the info. So now Mr. IT has to figure out how to load everything back in.  Thinking that finding the stuff is a good omen and this should be a successful trip.
